On Saturday, November 30th Mr. and Mrs. Claus. returned to the Historic Miller Claytor House to help us kick off the holiday season and read The Biggest Christmas Tree Ever by Steve Kroll. They were joined by an energetic cadre of children, who each received a signed copy of the book.
A special thanks to Katheryn Brown and board member Clarkie Eppes for decorating Miller Claytor and hosting the event; to our inveterate elves, Ann Young and Maggie Angus; and to Ann Langley and Katheryn Brown for the delicious cookies. And a huge round of applause goes to The Bank of the James and a generous anonymous donor for sponsoring this fun event for our community.
We also were especially excited to show off some of the re-staging work that has been ongoing at Miller Claytor. Not only were the stockings hung by the chimney with care, but so were the new curtains! The rugs and accessories helped set the stage and the period appropriate clothing displays were perfect.
Do plan on seeing the changes yourselves and joining us on the afternoon of July 19th for family fun, games, music and good food at Banjos, BBQ and Beer.
